Golden Sneaker Contest

Join us as Ardenwood Elementary will be participating in the 2023 Golden Sneaker Contest from February 27th – March 10th, 2023. 

Golden Sneaker Contest is a part of the Alameda County Safe Routes to Schools program.  It offers an opportunity for every student and their family members to engage in active and shared transportation and indoor physical activity options for fun, exercise, or essential trips. Options include: 

● Walking 

● Biking 

● Rolling in a wheelchair or mobility device 

● Skateboarding, scooter, or rollerblades 

● Using public transit such as AC Transit or BART 

● Yoga, jumping jacks, or other indoor physical activities
 

As a part of the Contest, your student and their classmates will track their activities each day with their teacher (in a mode chart sheet), reporting if they used an active or shared transportation option or engaged in an indoor physical activity that day. The classroom with the highest participation percentage of students engaging in these activities will win special prizes for both students and teachers! Parents and guardians are encouraged to join their student for fun, even though parent activities will not be counted.
